Cover of Somewhere Near Japan

I thought I'd share this one. If there's ever another tribute cover album from the folks here at SS, I hope this one would be considered for it. I re-worked it to a mostly acoustic arrangement but kept the vocal parts complex.

I'm doing all the vocals and instruments myself.
Recorded it within the span of a week using a Tascam 4 track analog tape machine.
The complexity of the vocal parts required a lot of bouncing back and forth which thankfully didn't hinder the quality of the final mix too much.
I am quite pleased with the outcome. It's my little home made homage to what I consider a hidden gem from their highly commercial 80s period.

Really nice.
Acoustic covers of these songs (like the Onion AV club one of Kokomo a week or two ago) really emphasize how much Papa John is in these tunes ...

Wow, great stuff. I like how you stripped it down without burying the hooks of the song.

Really Really great. You've really got a great feel for the guy's voices. Nice to see someone else doing the 4-track thing.

Real nice, great vocals!!.
More people should cover 80s BB/BW stuff and give it a more 'organic' feel.

That could be a concept for the next cover-tribute..... there are some very cool songs by the BBs in the 80s

Really nice track. Shows just how well written the song was... you did excellent!
One thing though...be VERY careful uploading covers to Soundclick, as you could get your account termintated without the proper documentation. I almost lost my account over an *approved* cover of Daniel Johnston's "Devil Town" even though it was advertised at one point on HIS OFFICIAL WEBSITE. It wasn't him who complained either (obviously not as he apparently liked it a lot according to his brother Dick).
