Grizzly Bears----- I don't have their album yet, but they were the musical guests on Saturday Night Live earlier this year.  During one of their songs, they simply quit playing their instruments, & the whole band harmonized together.  It really make me think of the Beach Boys.

they're one of quite a few recent "indie" bands who follow the beach boys steps.  just in different ways.  not necessarily melodic pop ways.

This is actually pretty funny.  I just saw them on a rerun of "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien," right now and I just had the show on in the background, but once they performed at the end, it caught my ear.  The song they performed, "Two Weeks," is definitely a heavily Wilsonesque song, which caused me to check in here to see if they had been talked about before, only to see a new thread up!  Nice!  Here's the song, by the way.  Very nice one:

I'm definitely interested to hear more of this band.

It's Grizzly Bear, by the way (not Bears). Their 2009 album (which is the one that really got them quite a bit of hype after a couple of decently but less broadly received albums) is Veckatimest.

Ugh, don't think of them as sounding like the Beach Boys! You'll only be invariably disappointed!

"Two Weeks" is one of my favorites of theirs. "On a Neck, on a Spit" is pretty good too.

They REMINDED me of the Beach Boys.  Primarily the creative use of chords and harmony, and that choppy chording of Brian on the keyboard.

But don't go out and buy it expecting the BBs.  If you happen to hear some of it, make your own comparison.

I think the singer sounds more like Frankie Valli than Wilson.
