So, California Girls has been selected for the 2010 Grammy Hall of Fame. About time too.
More than the 25 years qualification period has passed by, but better late than never.
It's not the guys' greatest song, but it is gloriously infectious and  timeless, evoking waves of joyful nostalgia.

Agree. When I went to Hollywood Bowl for Brian's concert in 2005 and saw "the real California girls" dance to the song, I almost cried.

Perhaps  not  the Boys best song, but certainly infectious, evocative and timeless,

So, not before time, California Girls has been included in the 2010 Grammy Hall of Fame selections.
Perhaps not the Boys greatest song, but certainly one of their most infectious and evocative.ß
It's a timeless classic, worthy of Grammy recognition.

uuhhmm, Dave, you've posted this topic twice already. I think we get the point by now...

(and I will merge this one with the other 2 ... doesn't really fit in the "welcome"-section...)

Rule of thumb, think BEFORE you post. And THINK how it may affect someone else's feelings.

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

Listening to you I get the music; Gazing at you I get the heat; Following you I climb the mountain; I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you I see the millions; On you I see the glory; From you I get opinions; From you I get the story

Yay!!! Usually I watch the award shows (especially the music ones) with very little expectations given my feelings that there are no (or very few) "artists"/material worthy of awards today. But I always watch for the off chance classics they sometimes throw in there (ie Jerry Lee, Little Richard, & John Forgery jamming, He Stopped Loving Her Today's Hall of Fame Induction, & The Band's Lifetime Achievement). Now I can watch knowing for sure something great is gonna happen Grin They just need to to throw in the rest of the BB catalog and we'll be good, lol

Just to introduce a note of reality (and accuracy) into this misleadingly titled thread, "CG" has not won a Grammy, rather it's been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, along with 24 other songs. This is the bands fourth entry, the others being "Good Vibes", Pet Sounds and, slightly surprisingly, "In My Room".
