I found an interesting article where somebody claims that Dennis sang "Forever" at an August 1983 show. I VERY highly doubt this, but I thought I'd see what everybody here has to say about it. What do you guys think? Is it plausible in any way? http://www.maybellinebook.com/2012/05/beach-boys-1983-spirit-of-america-tour.html

This is the same site that said that Chuck is the one who put the BB back together for the 50th anniversary tour. Take it all with a grain of .............

I didn't think about that. That makes a lot more sense.

I saw The Boys in San Francisco in July, 1983 and Dennis didn't sing "Forever". Nor did he sing it in Santa Barbara, Napa, or Costa Mesa. And after that he wasn't at the Pomona or Hollywood California (or any other shows) with the band. So that kinda discounts that statement.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Isn't the footage of Dennis singing YASB in the Malcolm Leo documentary from their July 4th show in Atlantic City in '83 (the year that James Watt had the replaced in DC)? His declining state was extremely visible, and (sadly) his performance reflected that fact.

1982 was the James Watt influenced DC 4th show.  I was there and saw the Grass Roots and the Ventures.  The Beach Boys returned in 1984 with Mike commenting on all the "undesirable elements" in the audience.

"His solo project Pacific Ocean Blue was released a couple of years ago", was it ? Re-released or expanded and reissued a couple of years ago maybe, but not "released" !

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

No, that clip is from Costa Mesa in August of '83. The clip of Carl thanking the audience and the band performing Barbara Ann is from Atlantic City.
