I disagree. It isn't their individual voices, or even the blend of their voices, unless you interpret "voices" very broadly as "musical personae." Because, truly, what made the Beach Boys unique was the unique combination of their musical talents. And limiting that to their singing voices isn't really fair to their varied contributions through the years.

Of course, it's also why they sucked.

I just mean there have never been a group of singers LIKE them. Other than The Beatles (and who do you think they were inspired by) on "Beacause" maybe, or The Bee Gees!

No one's ever really sung in THAT way!!!!

I love Brian's band, but to me, they sing in those "Backstreet Boy" voices, which is not something that moves me.

Ok, that might be a tad insulting!

It's just that I'm trying to articulate what's great about The Beach Boys voices, which is almost an impossible thing to put into words!
