any c-lebs commented on BWPS?

so i was just sitting here doing nothing while little thought bubbles emerged from my unconscious mind into the frothy surface layer for further consideration.
one of those
was the question of whether any well-known musicians of Brian's era or any era had commented, either publicly or privately to fans, on BWPS the album or the BWPS live shows.
wasn't Paul McCartney at one of the shows? has he said anything?
i was watching a video on youtube the other day with jimmy webb, stephen stills and some other people performing "Surf's Up". was that before or after BWPS? did any of those guys make (unscripted) comments about it?

I think that performance was from the tribute show at Radio City Music Hall a year or two before BWPS, but after he first started playing Heroes & Villains & Our Prayer live, part of a process of slowly breaking the SMiLE ice for him. Vince Gill does a beautiful version of 'Til I Die
at that show, which was on TNT as I remember. I heard that the rehearsal of the Surf's Up
cover was actually much better than the concert version, truly spine-tingling.
I went to the second Roxy stand (2003?) and they played a Wonderful/Cabinessence medley
for the first time, and a show at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Sunnyvale, CA with Paul Simon
before that where they performed H&V, Prayer and Surf's Up.
Then came the news about the plans for BWPS

The Radio City Music Hall Tribute was recorded in March of 2001. On the DVD, Surf's Up was performed by Jimmy Webb, David Crosby and Vince Gill. Vince Gill also sang Warmth Of The Sun on the DVD, but no 'Til I Die. Did Vince Gill sing 'Til I Die at the show? I used to own the DVD, but I gave it away. There was some dreck on there (Ricky Martin, and who are Evan and Jeron?), but Paul Simon did a great vocal/acoustic guitar arrangement of Surfer Girl, and Billy Joel did a wonderful job with Don't Worry Baby.

George Martin commented on BWPS on the dvd. Something about "we waited all these years, and now we have it, and it's magnificent."

He posts there (I'm not exactly sure what "there" is but I take it that it's another BBoys board?)? Got any links?

I think it was on Brian Wilson's website that I saw a quote from Elvis Costello, about how great 'Surf's Up' is.

In the Endless Harmony doc, Sean Lennon said that Smile is the most amazing thing he's ever heard. I'm not sure what he thinks of BWPS.

Yeah, in Endless Harmony he talks about the tape of Brian playing 'Surf's Up' at the piano and likens it to hearing Mozart. And I guess that since Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins talks about SMiLE in the A&E documentary, he's a big SMiLE fan, too.
As a side note, I think he asked Van Dyke to produce one of their albums once.
