I hope this topic doesn't cross the line to much.   Wink  I have a chance to buy a Beach Boys boot named "On The Beach". It's taken from a show in Japan in 1979. It's only 11 songs though. I know that isn't the complete show. I was wondering if anybody knows if the complete recording of this show circulates. I don't really want to waste my money if there is a better version out there.

That's all that circulates - it was a TV broadcast of a whole show. Presumably the whole show was recorded to be edited later, but who knows?

Thanks.  Grin Was it ever shown on TV, or was it a project that was later scrapped? What's the sound quality like?

It was shown on Japanese television. It's broadcast quality, although a little flat-sounding.

Although you shouldn't buy Beach Boys bootlegs. That's wrong. You won't be lining the Lovester's pockets if you buy boots. Smiley

I wonder if anybody here has a video of that broadcast?  Wink

I'd heard it was a RADIO broadcast...this is the first I heard of it being for TV!

Incidentally, Dennis was absent from this tour, as he was from most 1979 shows (after May, at least).  Brian WAS there.  Carli Munoz and Mike Meros were both in the band.  And Bruce.

Does Brian do any singing? Or does he mainly keep to himself as was the norm for him back then?
