It's been 45 years since I sat on my parents living room rug and watched history on a black and white television screen to find out what all of the fuss was about.   It seemed so new, so different, that I really didn't get it at first.  But I felt a strange excitement at what was happening.   A guy up on a high riser playing drums.  Two guys singing into the same microphone, another off to himself sort of bending his knees with the rhythm as he played guitar.  Those boots and those jackets.  The hair.  The bow in unison at the end.  The teenage girls in the audience in a complete frenzy.
My dad asking why those guys were wearing fur caps and commenting that people in the audience  used to act that way about Frank Sinatra.
