Hey guys i did a search on this but only got bits and pieces. I was wondering which tracks are only found on that box set and how many of them were available on boots before the set was released.  Basically which tracks are unique only to this set?            Thanks!!

It was new at the time it came out there. Ruby Baby, Punchline, Things We Did, almost all the stuff on disc 5 was new. Little Surfer Girl, the radio jingles, the demos they were all new too. I Just Got My Pay, Games, H.E.L.P. Our Team, and some of the Smile stuff had been booted. May I recomend Andrew Doe's book The Complete Guide To The Music Of The Beach Boys. You can usually find it cheap and it helps keep one originized.

I don't know about bootlegs but here are the tracks that were marked as previously unreleased on the set.

Disc One
  1. Surfin' U.S.A. (Demo Version)
  2. Little Surfer Girl
  3. Surfin' (Rehearsal)
  5. Their Hearts Were Full of Spring (Demo)
  6. Punchline
19. Things We Did Last Summer
14. Radio Station Jingles
15. Concert Promo / Hushabye (Live)

Disc Two
  7. Ruby Baby
  8. KOMA (Radio Promo Spot)
13. Hang On to Your Ego (Alternate Version)
This is the same as on the Pet Sounds Sessions box set.
18. Our Prayer
        Same as on Smile Sessions
19. Heroes and Villains (Alternate Version)
Same as on Smiley Smile/Wild Honey twofer
20. Heroes and Villains (Sections)
Shorter version than on the Smile Sessions
21. Wonderful
        Same as on Smile Sessions
23. Wind Chimes
Shorter version than on Smile Sessions, missing intro
24. Heroes and Villains (Intro)
Actually the intro to Fire, Fire is on The Smile Sessions
25. Do You Like Worms
Same as Smile Sessions but with My Only Sunshine tacked on at the end
26. Vegetables
Shorter than on Smile Sessions, fades out early, no Mama Says bridge
27. I Love to Say Da Da
Shorter than on Smile Sessions, no water chant
28. Surf's Up
The "piano demo" on The Smile Sessions, missing Brian calling "take one" and I think an earlier fade

Disc Three
  5. Can't Wait Too Long
  6. Cool Cool Water
There's also San Miguel which is track 17 which is only available elsewhere on the 10 Years of Harmony disc which is now out-of-print.
18. Games Two Can Play
19. I Just Got My Pay
24. H.E.L.P. Is On the Way
25. 4th of July

Disc Four
13. It's Over Now
14. Still I Dream of It
20. Our Team

Everything on disc five was unavailable (except presumably on bootleg) before the release of the box set.

The unedited versions of Surfin' Safari and 409 were previously unreleased as well. Many mono mixes on the first two discs were new to CD.
A different edit of H&V Sections appeared on Smile bootlegs. Wonderful, Love To Say Da Da, the Surf's Up demo and Wind Chimes had been booted, as well as differently edited versions of Do You Like Worms and Vegetables. Heroes And Villains Intro actually is, as it says, a Heroes And Villains intro, despite it being appended to Fire both before the box (on Smile bootlegs) and after (on BWPS and the official Smile box).
Can't Wait Too Long and Cool Cool Water are variants of booted tracks.
Games Two Can Play, I Just Got My Pay and H.E.L.P. Is On Its Way were all heavily booted before the box (I think the last of these has no fade for the first time there, tho).
It's Over Now, Still I Dream Of It and Our Team were all heavily booted before official release.
The Heroes And Villains instrumental on Disc 5 had appeared on boot.

Should clarify that all are mastered differently, "Heroes" sections have some different mixes (is a mono presentation of the sections on TSS? I forget), "Wonderful" is not the same mix as TSS (the TSS adds the yodeling track over top, as well as possibly some of the other background vocals), the "Wind Chimes" intro is an invention based on the BWPS structure (and I believe the 1993 "Wind Chimes" structure and mix either is or is modeled after a '66 or '67 Brian mix), the "Fire" intro was indeed originally intended for "Heroes" and adding it onto the Fire section was either a bootlegger invention or came later on (the 1993 mix is possibly different, too), "Worms" is a totally different mix and structure, "Vega-Tables" is another totally different mix and edit, and "Love To Say Da Da" is a different mix (and doesn't include the badly pitch-shifted "Cool Cool Water" bits).

sryz if that came off as asshole-ish Sad just wanted to clarify.

Nope!  Not at all.  I figured there would be clarifications, I was just thinking off the top of my head and looking at running times without actually listening.

You're right on the intro, but the original structure was supposed to include the double chorus, as included on BWPS and TSS.

I much prefer the 'Heroes & Villains sessions' track on GV CD 2 to the version on TSS. I prefer the disjointed-ness here, whereas on TSS they've tried to tighten it up and get it flowing a bit more neatly (with often frankly clumsy edits).

I was wondering about the Surfin USA demo on the first disc, is it the same one as on Hawthorne CA? With the exception of the drums added on Hawthorne? Or was it a different recording? the difference I hear is the drums.

Disc 4
21. Mt. Vernon & Fairway (background music)

Also, I remember on the back of the GV boxset, it said You Need a Mess of Help to Stand alone was an unreleased mix or something along those lines.
