Been listening a lot to the aforementioned Iron & Wine rarities set, the new St. Vincent album "Actor," the new Eels record "Hombre Lobo," Bob Dylan "Good as I Been To You" and the new Elvis Costello, "Secret, Profane and Sugarcane."

The Mighty Sparrow: Hot and Sweet (1974) produced by Andy Wickham and van Dyke Parks - great modern Calypso songs.

Listening to the new Camera Obscura album, My Maudlin Career....almost sounds like Phil Spector or Brian Wilson produced it!!

I thought that too, I really like the new Camera Obscura. My initial impression was I thought it sounded like Spector producing the Pretenders which about 25 or 27 years ago or so might have been an interesting prospect.

Sheriff, I know you've started listening to CSNY recently...have you warmed up to "Country Girl" yet? One of my very favorites.

I like the Beatles a bit more than the Boys of Beach, I think Brian's band is the tops---really amazing. And finally, I'm liberal. That's it.

Listening to an upcoming album by one of our own board members. And it's really good stuff. I love when I'm listening to friends' music and don't consider it "good considering this is someone I know," but just that it's good music, period.

Yes, I've listened to "Country Girl", but, as you stated correctly, I'm just starting to digest CSN&Y. I like the song, but it's not among my favorites on Deja Vu - yet. I think I prefer "Carry On", "Our House", "Woodstock", and the title track to "Country Girl". But, it's still early....

Dylan's Together Through Time. First listen in a couple months, I think. Weeks at least. I definitely don't like it as much as I do his previous two studio albums (and the most recent bootleg series set, for that matter). But there are a couple of real keepers, and even the duds sound good.

Listening to
"Torturer" by Hotpress for Leopold
.
Awesome local band. Just love that they aren't like every other band out there. Their use of different instruments just works in this really cool way. Can't get enough of them.

Working On The Road by Ten Years After. I love Cricklewood Green, and Ten Years After in general, but this song is just brilliant. Maybe not a favorite, not sure, but the "I've got a feeling for home" part is so masterfully done. It sends me somewhere every time.
