No nominations for Dennis & the POB reissue. None for That Lucky Old Sun, either, for that matter. Not really all that surprising.

Like the Grammys ever really mattered that much.

Grammys are kind of like Rolling Stone. If Rolling Stone recognises Brian in some list or another that they've chafed up to sell magazines, y'all would be "ZOMG SO WELL DESERVED, WHAT AN HONOUR" etc, if they snub him it's "Psch, not like it matters"

Well I dunno... if Brian got some honour at the Grammy's or Rolling Stone I don't think I would really think "what an honour"... I'd just be like "well good for Brian" as well as thinking that at least it could turn more people onto The Beach Boys/Brian etc... but in the end I really don't take any interest in these kind of awards.

Gotta admit, I was thinking the exact same thing.

Shoot the Beach Boys lost out in 1967 to Winchester Catherdral. Think they have any real taste!

It's a vaudville revival. Really not Rock and Roll at all, and not that good. Good Vibrations was single of the year in 1966 whether the Grammy's thought so or not.

I saw a video of Winchester Cathedral on Youtube, and all I want to know is, how the hell did the New Vaudeville Band even muster up a Grammy nomination??!!! Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

For sure. But the band did think it was important to front a few years back for the wooden spoon. Or as I call it, the 'we have f**ked up by not knowing good music when we have heard it so give them the 'Life-time Achievement grammy'.

How is Lil' Wayne getting nominated? The current Academy membership must be just as crazy as the 1966 incarnation of the Academy.
