70s Queen is great, some of the best music ever made, the 80s less so. Without Freddie even more so.

Your honour, I must admit that I liked 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' at age 13. But 'Bohemian Rhapsody' made Queen anathema for me, instantaneously. Sort of the anti-Good Vibrations, the work of the devil, and in this case the devil surely does not have the best music.

Congrats, well deserved.

Definately. A re-issue that entered the album charts at #16 (in the UK, that is) while the original album never even charted... That's gotta be unique.

Nice info! I guess it's pretty unique indeed... perhaps there's a record researcher who can shed light on the uniqueness, Joel Whitburn perhaps?

Time has only been good to The Beach Boys, well from about the year 2000 till now lol

Yes. They are bigger than the Beatles and the Stones now. Mission accomplished.

Beatles, Stones and The Beach Boys, 3 bands that are as relevant now as they were in the 60s,

The 5 nominees are: The Niney Years, Dennis Brown; Tell Tale Signs, Bob Dylan; Polk Miller and His Old South Quartette; Pussycat, John Phillips; Pacific Ocean Blue, Dennis Wilson.

I am pretty amazed that Playboy has such excellent taste in music! I'd have thought they'd repeat this candidate list every year:

Barry White: Greatest Hits
Marvin Gaye: Let's Get It On
Luther Van Dross: Best Of
Prince: Lovesexy
anything by Betty Davis

Esp. that Dennis Brown disk is an adventurous choice. How many Americans would know what 'Niney' stands for?
