I remember to this day the bright red Georgia clay,
How it stuck to the tires after the summer rain.
Will power made that old car go; a woman's mind told me that it's so.
Oh, how I wish we were back on the road again.

Me and you and a dog named Boo,
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
How I love bein' a free man.

I can still recall the wheat fields of Saint Paul,
And the mornin' we got caught robbin' from an old hen.
Old MacDonald made us work, but then he paid us for what it was worth,
Another tank of gas and back on the road again.

Me and you and a dog named Boo,
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
How I love bein' a free man.

I'll never forget that day we motored stately into big L.A.
The lights of the city put settlin' down in my brain.
Though it's only been a month or so, that old car's buggin' us to go.
You gotta get away and get back on the road again.

Me and you and a dog named Boo,
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
How I love bein' a free man.

Ohhhhh yes, Roland Kent Lavoie, affectionately known as Lobo. We shall never forgive you for this abomination. It's like he wrote about his adventures with a 13 year old and the family pet. Think Last Tango In Paris as directed by Ruggero Deodato. Smiley

And by the way...what's with all the Barbie Girl hate?!? It's PURE POP at its finest. It doesn't foda with the formula.

Add some hatred for The Prayer.

R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts
Might be the downright lamest thing ever put to tape. Forget about Achy Breaky Heart, this is the one song that really should top any Worst Song Ever list as far as I'm concerned (and as long as Kenny G doesn't count in terms of "song").

The recorded version of "Everybody Hurts" is way overwrought, but I heard them do a softer version live and it was actually very pretty.

Speaking of overwrought, I'm going to go with Jessica Simpson's "I'm Gonna Love You Forever." I was forced to listen to this and many other crappy pop hits at a job I had in my youth. It drove me crazy. Her voice made my ears bleed.

This was actually a top 25 hit in 1971

That is bound to come back in remix form very soon!  Afro

...What...were...they...thinking?!

Holland has a lot to answer for.

Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NF5XU-k2Vk

It was recorded in "the golden age" of music. It's an uptempo, well sung doo wop song....and every time I hear it, I want to stick a fork in my eye.

Charlene Tilton: 'I've Never Been To Me'.

Pseudo-introspective psychological BS if there ever was. She must've been looking for the Real Me That She Used To Be, a.k.a. her Inner Child.
Hey, you know what paradise is?
It's a lie, a fantasy we create about people and places as we'd like them to be
But you know what truth is?
It's that little baby you're holding, it's that man you fought with this morning
The same one you're going to make love with tonight
That's truth, that's love......

That's not so bad. Try Pat Boone Tutti Frutti

This song makes you want to stick a fork in your eye dude? It's not the best song in the world but I don't think it's THAT bad. But I like Looking Back With Love so my opinion will most likely register with a question mark. Smiley

I was going to mention What You Do To Me by Carl, but I figured that was sacrilege.  Grin

I don't think it's Carl's worst solo song because I actually remember it. Half his stuff I would have to play again to remember. The 5-22-83 video of them doing it concert though is scary. THose cheerleaders laying on their backs kicking the air!

Hehe. It's the tragedy of all bands that try to stick with a formula. When youth has passed by, it's the sadness of having to consciously emulate that which you think you 'ought to' do instead of getting into it naturally. Not to mention the fact that men near or over 40 using cheerleaders to drum up some excitement is, em, strange. However, what can be expected of guys who still sat in class at 35 (proof: 'Let Us Go On This Way')?

Jon Stebbins and I once talked about the film and he noted that they weren't even very pretty cheerleaders lol. It's a gag yourself moment.

It's weird seeing Carl without a guitar. Dennis doesn't look to happy. It looks like he tries to leave, but can't find the exit.  Grin He just randomly walks around.  LOL

Unfortunately, it's not on YouTube. About a year and a half ago, somebody had a bunch of songs posted from Seattle 1983. But YouTube deleted his account.

Is that the same concert the footage of the group doing Runaway came from? That was one of my favorite Beach Boys clips at youtube, with an obviously amazed Bruce Johnston exclaiming "Did Brian Wilson dance or not?"
Priceless stuff...

Same show and that is a great clip. Man I would do anything to see Brian that way again.
