In Domenic Priore & Co's Dumb Angel Gazette #4 there's an interesting essay written by Brian Chidester & Tobias
Bernsand, called 'The Marimba You Send Out Returns To You' (page 121).
They mention that on november 4th 1966, Brian & friends recorded chants inspired by 'The Elements'...
For Earth they went like:
Vega (doot doot)...
Chew! Chew! Chew!
Munch! Munch Munch!

And for Water (Atlantis):
Side stroke, Stroke Side
Dive! Dive! Dive!
Fishy Swim, Swim Fishy...
Underwater current, Current Underwater...
Shark! Shark! Shark!
Dolphins....

So - for those who know: What do these chants sound like - are they promising even in their experimental state?
Are they anywhere to be located - like on the SMiLE boxset?

I actually think the Atlantis chant is pretty cool.  Yeah its weird and drugged out, but you actually do get an "underwater" type of feeling from it.  I can't imagine the Beach Boys agreeing to re-record it when they came back from touring (which I'm pretty sure Anderle said was Brian's intent).

I'm sorry, SMILE BOXSET?!!!? Is this just a flippant remark, wishful thinking, or -dear God, please!! - is it actually finally on it's way?

I believe Rasmus was referring to the Sea Of Tunes bootleg box set issued 8 or 9 years ago. The chants as described did not appear on that set. Perhaps they have surfaced on another boot, but the only chants I'm aware of are the two included on the "Hawthorne, CA" set ("I've got a big bag of vegetables" and "Where are my beets and my carrots?").

After some internet surfing, I understand that "Psychedelic Sounds" exists as a double cd including all the chants(?)
