I've noticed a lot of little threads whilst searching the archives here, and it's a shame we don't have a definitive vocal credits thread which answers all the questions. I figure we could post each album at a time, with lead vocal credits, even the non-debated ones, hash it out, and get a full consensus, as far as it exists. One album done, we could go on to the next one, and then we'd have the definitive source of reference.
I'm thinking of this kind of thing as an example:

20/20:

Do It Again: Mike and Carl ["middle eight"]
I Can Hear Music: Carl.
Bluebirds Over The Mountain: Mike [verses], Bruce and Carl [choruses]
Be With Me: Dennis.
All I Want To Do: Mike.
The Nearest Faraway Place: Instrumental.
Cottonfields: Alan.
I Went To Sleep: Brian and Carl first among equals within the group.
Time To Get Alone: Carl [verses], Brian and Alan [choruses]
Never Learn Not To Love: Dennis.
Our Prayer: Group.
Cabinessence: Carl and Mike [on the tag]

Plus bonus tracks here.  Thoughts?

Sounds good. I've always thought Al might be singing on the verses of 'Bluebirds'. But I can see how Bruce and Carl combined could sound like Al.

Ha, see now I've got to go and listen to it again!

I hear Al on the Live In London version, but not so much on the studio version.

If a few people think it's a good idea, we can start a new thread with SURFIN' SAFARI.

Sounds great to me! Oh, and on the promo for the 2007 version of God Only Knows, it was Brian + BRUCE on the tag...  Razz

(just kidding and not wanting to derail this promising thread, but it was indeed Bruce on the last two seconds!)

Stuff like "Truck Drivin' Man" I'm going to asterisk, and mention as a footnote.

All right, let's let this thread die, and I'll start the actual vocal credits thread.
