Does anybody know what is on this DVD and is it worth buying it? It’s quite expansive. I saw this DVD on amazon.com and wondered if anybody had bought this. The trouble with a music DVD is that they never give any description of what’s on the DVD. This one has also an editorial review that doesn’t reveal anything of importance:
“This definitive overview of the band and its music provides an unrivaled insight into the world of the Beach Boys. With powerful and rare live performance footage as its backdrop. The program also features fascinating archive interviews with Brian Wilson and his late brother Carl. In addition, a team of eminent musicologists and respected rock critics are on hand to unravel the secrets of the Beach Boys phenomenon; these include influential drummer Rod Gretsinger and producer/guitarist Les Davidson.”
As far as I know Rod Gretsinger and Les Davidson are not from the Beach Boys scene, so what kind of important things have they to say that’s interesting for me as an almost lifelong fan. Or should I translate the Amazon.com editorial review as: Nothing of interest, leave it where it is: in the shop!

The DVDs are acutely disappointing, as they were last time this was put out, in 2005. However the booklet is a lot better as it's been totally rewritten.*

Which raises the question -  having already bought the earlier version, is it worth the spend for the booklet alone?!?!?!

I guess it's not fair to ask AGD that question -  anyone else?
