I'm watching the aforementioned. They're showing clips from a Beach Boys performance (quite possibly lip synched) with Carl on bass and Al on guitar--that's all you can see, other than Dennis on drums. It's black and white. I know that isn't a lot to go on...but does anyone know what it is? Anyone see it?

(By the way, the show also had interviews with Brian and Elvis Costello and Lou Adler about the Beach Boys.)

I think it's from dutch TV. I uploaded "Good vibrations" on youtube, see this link (might still be processing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFI6ssPL2Gg

They also played other stuff which can be seen on youtube. Everything lip-synced though.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

That's the one. I hadn't seen it before, so it struck my curiosity. Thanks for clearing it up.
