My vote goes for "Why Do Fools Fall In Love".  Just ignore the vocals and listen to the backing track.  That practically IS a Spector production.

Too bad the multi-tracks for most of the "Shut Down Vol. 2" album are missing.  I'd love to hear that instrumental track isolated.  Any idea what happened to them?

That's what I think too. On "Why do fools fall in love" I guess he tried to imitate Spector's sound while later on he had his own special touch.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I have to say "I Do" is one of the most Spector-esque productions in the BBs backlog.  The production, the singing, the song itself. Yeah.  As for Brian-esque Spector productions, how about "Do I Love You?" by the Ronettes.  Oh my God, what a song!

I'd say Brians most Spector-like productions are 'He's a Doll' and 'The one you can't have'. Smiley

I recently found a used copy of the CD "Pet Projects The Brian Wilson Productions".

It starts out with "Runaround Lover" by Sharon Marie-- it'd fit right into any "Back to Mono with Phil" set.
