Tickets for Brian went on sale at 9.00am GMT today.
At 9.00.01, the website and booking office phone lines at the RFH went into meltdown mode.
I got my tix by calling the RFH direct, and the booking screen on the site loaded so slowly that I had time to make a cup of tea between screens (seriously - I am not joking !).
This better be worth it... but realitically, if somewhat cynically, I don't see Brian coming up with a 100% brand new work. I'm thinking maybe a recycling of unreleased tracks or using the back catalog.

I don't see anything wrong with that as long as it's good....

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

"That Lucky Old Sun" is a standard from the 40s-50s. Louis Armstrong did a version of it.
Let me roll around heaven
I just wanna roll around heaven
All day
This reminds me of Brian's mid-70s unreleased track "Rollin' Up To Heaven"; I'm wondering if this standard inspired the old Brian track and, in turn, the old track will find a way into the new "That Lucky Old Sun (A Narrative)"?

What if it's an extension of Brian's projected 1969 song suite (Ol Man River, Old Folks At Home etc...)?
A BW trip through America's historical songs, such as the Louis Armstrong title?
Personally, i'd love a minimally-played and produced Wild Honey/Friends/Love You song suite about Brian doing very little with his life but expressed in a deep and poetic way.

Take it you've not heard "Rollin' Up To Heaven", then ?
Think "Ding Dang" - with X-rated lyrics.

You're right - I'm afraid that's one I haven't heard. Just trying to cover all the bases of possible song recycling!

As did Frankie Laine and Johnny Cash. And, Bob Dylan used to sing it at soundchecks in the mid-80's.
Another cover for Brian? Oh, the suspense...

Don't forget Jerry lee lewis and ray Charles. the list is probably very long but I love that song and Brian's version might be pretty special.
BTW check out Brian's official site, there's an official press release....

I can't work out whether to go, I was hovering over the cheap seats (literally next to the sky), my girlfriend just assumed I would want to, but I don't know, I need something more to lure me...
