That song exists and Mike wants to put it on his new solo-album. What he probably doesn't know is that the Beatles did this for other persons too, as a birthday-present. At leats that's what I heard. It was recorded in India '67 I believe

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

It's appeared on a few Beatles bootlegs - it was recorded in early 1968 in Rishikesh and is part of a "medley", IIRC, with a song called Spiritual Regeneration and Thank You Guru Dev, all of which share the same tune, as one continuous performance; they're the same song, as I recall, really - they run into each other. One acoustic guitar, and John, Paul and George sounding pretty good singing harmony - Paul is the most prominent voice - and they do a little Beach Boys style thing on the payoff of Spiritual Regeneration - a kind of Surfin' USA falsetto. The Mike segment  just goes "Happy birthday, Michael Love" to the same tune and I don't think it has any more lyrics.

Found this on something called trancenet.org

Next comes to the Trip to Rishikesh of February 1968. The Beautiful People sing Hare Krishna at Butlin's Holiday Camp, and matters reach a climax on several levels. Besides the Four and female companions, participants include Donovan, Mia Farrow, her sister Prudence, and Mike Love of the Beach Boys.

As far as can be determined from published accounts, things began well enough, with all four Beatles seemingly committed to the enterprise (although leadership certainly came from Lennon and Harrison, the foremost writers of related musical pieces). Outtakes like "What We Did On Our Meditation Course,Happy Birthday Michael Love," and "Spiritual Regeneration" (available on bootlegs from Chapter One and others) convey equal amounts of pretension and silliness, behaviors both childish and childlike.

I cannot believe that idiot Mike Love wants to remake this...

It was never meant to be released!  It was Paul and a guitar joking around for Chrissake!

Mike isn't thinking of remaking it - on the CDR I've got, er heard, he used the actual Rishikesh recording as an intro to "Pisces brothers".

Yeah this is actually cool. BTW what are they saying twoards the end. It could be them referencing Cynthia Lennon but I think it's something like Varinthia with a v. I remember reading it was a TM term but lost the info somewhere along the line. Anyone know?
