Strawberry Fields Forever
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Octupus Garden
Lady Madonna

are available to listen to on thebeatles.com...

just listened to strawberry fields...the ending mix is amazing....it has a huge medly of different endings with like the harpsicord ending to Piggies mixed with the Hey- la, hey-hello-ha from Hello Goodbye...with the ending percussion to strawberry fields.

It's interesting listening ....BUT... it does kind of remind me of a fan mix ... Somthing I'll buy and listen to a couple fo times and then put away .the end bit on SFF is very cool though.

I just find it amazing that we're getting yet another remix project when the original albums are STILL craply represented on CD.
This kind of release would have been great if  we'd already had a multitude of other releases.
Namely , all the original albums with MONO and STEREO versions plus tracks when appropriate.

also ask what Beatle fans would have rather had in 2006. LOVE or a Revolver 40th anniversary box set with MONO and STEREO, plus Paberback/Rain Sessions discs and DVD of footage from the time (PW/Rain promos, 66 concert footage)
I reckon 95% of fans would prefer the latter.

Obviously there's more money in a Cirque du Soleil soundtrack  Huh You're right, Capitol/Apple would clean up now if they released Pepper and Revolver box sets.

It's better than nothing anyway. Does anyone know if the WMGGW track is actually from 1968 (I haven't checked the Anthology yet), and if the string arrangement (as I suspect) is 2006?

Good to hear Ronnie Scott's sax solo again.

Alright I'm ready to eat my words, It's a worthy album.  The mash up bits aren't the highlights though. It's the tracks that are just remixed.
Especially I AM THE WALRUS. Straight through in stereo for the 1st time ever. Amazing.
A DAY IN THE LIFE also sounds remarkable.

Ummmmmm...listening on cans, and after about 2.03, the stereo goes a bit funny. I'd say there's been some flying in of instrumental parts from the true stereo part of the song overlaying a processed/panned mono bed.

It's stereo Jim, but not as we know it.

The sections from the King Lear play are obviously flown in from the MONO mix. That's why they are mixed so low, so as not to cause too much phasing. Apart from that it's truer than true stereo.

I am partial to the legacy version that suddenly drops into mono.  I think it was highly effective especially with headphones on.  I found it successful in a similar way that the movie "Wizard Of Oz"  was in suddenly switching from b&w to color.

Some massive "Itchycoo Park" level phasing - now that might make it more interesting and psychedelic.
