Dennis and Keith Moon

I've posted this at the Blue Bamboo Room too but there's not much traffic there so I'm hoping some of you might know. Jon Stebbins mentioned Dennis partying with Keith Moon in his book. Were they friends? I know Keith Moon was a fan of the Beach Boys but I'd like to know more about their relationship. Anybody know?

Hey...sorry I didn't answer on the other board...but i really don't know many details. although a couple just popped into my head. Of course there's the anecdote in the Real Beach Boy book about them hanging together backstage at the Forum with John Bonham in '77 after a Zeppelin gig...i think. I need to re-read my own book. other than that i know that Keith idolized the BB's and dyed his hair blonde for awhile in the early days after the first couple of BB's LP's came out with DW in full surfer mode on their covers. Also in the mid- '70's to the period shortly before Keith died, apparently he and Dennis did socialize at times. While writing the book one of Dennis' close friends told me a story about when both Keith and Dennis were living in Malibu, the short version...Dennis pulled a Dennis and slept with Keith's wife. I was also told this put a strain on the friendship. Can't confirm that this is true...but it has a ring of truth to it simply because Dennis did that kind of thing a lot. The thought of those two guys together is almost too much to imagine.

Thanks Jon! The two seem too much alike to actually be friends, but I would have loved to have seen the interactions between them.
There was a concert posted on YouTube  (Blondie singing Wild Honey) from the early 70's that had notes saying Keith Moon sat in with them on a song. Do you know anything about that?
