PET SQUARES #27: The Rise of SMiLE is now up

The latest episode of PET SQUARES: A GEEK'S GUIDE TO THE BEACH BOYS is finally up.
At last, we tackle one of rock's great mysteries: the Beach Boys' unreleased 1966-67 album SMiLE, intended to position the band as artists at the forefront of psychedelia, but instead laid unfinished and unreleased for 38 years.
Part 1, "The Rise of Smile" goes through the songs that were recorded in the second half of 1966 that were to be the basis of the album.
At over two hours, this is the longest episode of the series, necessary to tell a complex story as efficiently as possible. Because of this there is a minimum of visual additions to allow people to listen podcast-style without missing much content.
Enjoy, feel free to add corrections or additions here or on YT (there's always more to learn about SMiLE), and let me know if you like it.

Adam's
Pet Squares
series, Joshilyn's YouTube tutorials and the sessionography project tower above everything else in Beach Boys Land these days.
