Thanks so much for posting this. A couple things have made me tear up in the last few days due to Brian’s passing - Dae Lims’ Surfer Girl tribute to Brian, and now this^ write up.

I urge everyone to read this - I appreciate the honesty, warts and all, and additionally it is wonderful to read about Brian’s heart of gold, humor, and bluntness - the latter even up to his last days.

Brian was definitely given a second chance at life after Landy, and he was able to bring so much joy to so many people in his solo era. Couldn’t be more thankful to all the people who supported Brian during that time. Jean, the band, his family and friends, they helped give us fans an incredible 25+ years.

Gah, it is so strange to write about Brian in the past-tense now.

God must’ve smiled the day Brian Wilson was born!

"ragegasm" - /rāj • ga-zəm/ : a logical mental response produced when your favorite band becomes remotely associated with the bro-country genre.

A few garbled timeframes in Jean Sievers’ memoir, but that is dwarfed by the wealth of stories we’d never know otherwise and the warmth that radiates throughout.

The love and devotion that Brian’s circle brought to bear on the last phase of his life is truly heartwarming.

Thanks to Jean for being so instrumental in giving Brian such a strong foundation for his second chance... Love

Big takeaway from this interview which no one has mentioned yet is that we can finally expect an official release of the Paley sessions! I wonder how close that is to becoming a reality.
