John Fogerty Is Re-Recording Creedence Classics. We Asked Him Why
On Legacy, the 80-year-old rocker re-creates songs like "Proud Mary" and "Bad Moon Rising," note for note: “I wanted to call it Taylor’s Version"

Say what you will, but I think it's obvious that at least parts of the original CCR lead vocals have been used on the three songs that we can listen to. Sounds like he overdubbed new vocals onto the original. Was that the idea?  ???

Maybe some AI used? "Have you ever seen the rain" sounds like the original with some new parts punched-in. I wonder if they used AI because his voice on the "new" parts sounds almost exactly like the original. And since it seems like he lost quite a bit lot of edge in his voice during the last decade - as we can hear on live recordings - I can't believe that this is how he sounds without any post-production-work done.

All Summer Long:
I just saw him this past weekend; it was a great show!!  I do think it's strange that he's re-recording CCR material since he got the rights back a couple years ago or so.  I'm okay with re-recording "Travelin' Band" because I think it's in a lower key, but doing that many of the hits is kind of strange, in my opinion.
