Don't know if everybody has seen this on YouTube but it's an interesting video about Blondie Chaplin and Rickey Fataar in The Beach Boys and The Flames years. Lots of information on how it all happened.
https://youtu.be/PQxB4rbo8tc
"Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar, of the South African band, The Flames (aka "The Flame") join the early 70s Beach Boys in crisis (as usual.) They liven up the proceedings through "Carl & The Passions: So Tough," "Holland" and "The Beach Boys In Concert." Later, Blondie becomes backing vocalist for The Rolling Stones. Ricky becomes Rutles lead guitarist, Stig O'Hara. And what's with the guy with the 8 ball on his face?"

The first time I saw the Beach Boys live was with the Ricky and Blondie lineup. Always loved these guys. I wish they had stayed longer, I think their contributions would have been immense.
