Remember it very well. Radio news headline ‘Beach Boys Member Dead’ and waiting for the story thinking Brian had left us. Shocked it was Dennis but remember this was pre-internet. Stories were often weeks old and infrequent for the band. Sometime earlier (weeks? months?) I had read about Dennis being fired from the group but it was only after his death we found out about his last months in the Marina/ Santa Monica area.
Anyway, thinking of him today and of his friends, family and fans. 🏄‍♂️🏄‍♀️🏄🌊
