Well,

I hope that someone didn't already covered this topic, but why are Love you/Adult child demos in such low quality?
Did Brian recorded stuff at home (seems likely) or what's the thing...
I could listen all day to some of the demos (It's over now, Let's put our hearts together...)
WOW!
Incredible stuff.
Or...just maybe..someone has them in better quality (Capitol??) and will some time soon give them to us to enjoy..
Or Brian?

Please help on this...

I believe he was just playing them for the group, and someone had a tape recorder.

I would assume it's what Matt H said.  I'm sure that they could sound better though.

It's stuff like these demos (and Adult Child itself), that makes me think the "Legacy Edition" -- or even better, the super deluxe, 4 disc, big book method -- is the way to go for this stuff.  I would be all over a Love You box set.  Or a Sunflower or a Surf's Up, Super Duper Edition.

do it Capitol.  do it!

That sentence is the single most arousing thing I've ever seen online

The Brianista Prayer

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.

I'm hoping the absence of Love You demos on the box set (they could've had 3 of them on disc 6 instead of the Smile vocal montage) means they're planning to use them somewhere else. A bit of a long shot, but fingers crossed!

I'm hoping that explains a lot of the obvious omissions!

Nope, 6 CD Love You box-set with hand-knitted cover would do it for me.

Is that the case, or is it possible these were Landy 'scheduled' work sessions at Brother Studio, but I guess that doesn't account for poor quality.

The Love You demos are further proof that the songs are masterpieces.
