Is the falsetto Brian's ? I read somewhere that it was Andrew Gold. I can't for the life of me remember where I read it. Perhaps here
Andrew Gold? I've never heard about that!

Gold was definitely involved in the sessions. As I recall, he laid down guide lead vocals which were later replaced by Brian, but he may also be in the harmonies. No idea if it's him singing that part though.

Album credits read thusly -

Carnie & Wendy Wilson ("Do It Again")
Sweet Pea Atkinson

Jeff Pescetto
Andrew Gold
Kip Lennon

Background vocals conducted by Jeff Pescetto and Andrew Gold

Oh, and I also remember reading that Andrew Gold did a lot of parts (I think with Kip Lennon), including scratch leads for Brian to redo.

Thanks AndrewHickey & c-man! This is why I love this board.  Smiley

What's your opinion on solo-Gold? To me - couple of good songs but not really my cup of tea. The stuff I've heard I remember as too "clean" and "sugary". Is there more interesting stuff you could recommend?

I might add - Atkinson, Bowens and Mitchell are all Was' usual group of vocalists, from Detroit - my guess is Pescetto, Gold and Lennon laid down guide vocals, which were complemented by the Detroit guys, and replaced by Brian (for the lead vocals). Kip Lennon sings with Venice, the great southern California vocal group.
