As young Beach Boy Brian Wilson in “Love & Mercy,” Paul Dano sang, gained weight and experienced the onset of mental illness. Things shouldn’t be quite as hard on the actor on Monday when he stops by the Los Angeles Times for a live video chat. At 12 p.m. PT, Dano will be here to discuss his turn as the famed singer-songwriter, and how he portrayed him for only half the film.

Golden Globes are Sunday. Good luck to Paul Dano, but I kinda loved Stallone in Creed. Either one of them wins and I'm good.

Thanks so much, because I didn't actually get to see it, but had a feeling someone would post it.

Funny enough, my wife & I have a limo company in Los Angeles, and we have a knack for driving winners!

(Also ironic is that the only trophy we haven't hauled - as of yet - is a Grammy.  We've had Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, 'Actor' statues from the SAG's, Spirits, you name it!)

We're driving a shoo-in for Best Ensemble this Sunday, (although anonymity precludes me from mentioning who the actor is), but obviously it's not Paul Dano...

Thanks, Ed and Sandy Baby - I really enjoyed hearing his technique for prepping to do Brian's early character.  He nailed it.  Fingers crossed for a win.   Love

I sure hope Paul (like I know him) wins and gets an Academy Award nomination too. It's one thing that the film is about someone we all love very much but it's wholly another that it's actually a terrific piece of film-making and acting. Hollywood makes a lot of biopics but rarely do they capture the essence of their subject this well.

Thanks for the link. Paul Dano continues to impress with his sensitivity and thoughtfulness about Brian.
I'm wondering why they did this live-- what was the point? I thought they would have taken questions or something like that.
