I was re-listening to BW88 after a looooong time and was just stunned by this track. Somehow I've never given it full attention, always eagerly waiting for Rio Grande to come on. It caught me by surprise. The way the already-dynamic verses just explode into the chorus is pure Brian magic.

Yeah, it's a fantastic little pop song.  And for me the one time on that album the overstuffed production actually does the song perfect justice... it's full-on Spector!

Yeah, it's a track that works. Apparently almost completely written by Andy Paley, however, from what I've read here and elsewhere.
