I think the biggest offenders are:

Smiley Smile - Hard to believe this came out the year after Pet Sounds.

15 Big Ones - Signaled the death of The Beach Boys as a creative force.

Keeping the Summer Alive - I thought MIU and LA were decent, but this album is a big step back.

Summer in Paradise - The newer tracks that made up Still Crusin were good, and a step up from 1985.  Then, this happened.
15 big ones is totally their demise of making new substantial output BUT love you is brians solo even tho it has their name. And to anyone undermining lil deuce coupe, summer days and smiley, yer nuts! Every and I mean EVERY BB album from 63 to 73 is flawless even w joke tracks and a weaker track here n there. Sunflower was definitely their last masterpiece as a group effort; surfs up is solid but not on par w sunflower and ditto for holland. Surfer girl being considered their first gem of an album , but lil deuce coupe shoulda been a 6-track ep...Or its six strongest cuts and shut down vol2s strongest cuts shoulda been an album as their followup to surfer girl even tho I strongly disagree with it being a weaker album jus because of sonny.vs.cassius and dennys drums. And I dig summer days just as much if not more than today, same goes w smiley to pet sounds,,,love wild honey and 20/20 but friends is good not great in my book...I wont even mention any post-holland albums sept love you but like I previously stated brian solo not proper BB lp.

Kookadams,

We're going to have to agree to disagree on Smiley Smile.  When I listen to that album, I hear two great singles, but that's about it.  Especially, when you listen to just about every BB record from 63-66 (with the possible exception of Party).

Luckily, they rebounded with Wild Honey and had another good run of albums before the perfect storm that was Endless Summer.

But, I'm sure I'm in the minority in that I don't much care for Smiley Smile or Love You, but I really enjoy Still Cruisin.
