I just stumbled upon a version of "Surfin' Safari" on my hard drive I haven't ever heard. Not the released version, not the early version used on the 1976 TV special, not the early live version, but definitely a very early version. It features the alternate lyrics, a drumming flub in the second verse, a very different guitar solo, and is played very fast. Does anybody know that version and has info about it? Can't find it on YouTube.

Would it be the one mentioned here? Or is that the "TV Special" version?

No, that one I meant with "early live version", but couldn't think of the name - that one has the lyrics of the single version. I think the one I mean is definitely recorded in some kind of studio.

I don't know, but I think it's #2 on this one:

Yes, but it's not this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmg7dHS-IWg

Nor this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOg1MxozVPc

Lost & Found?

Possibly, I don't have that album.
