Happy Sunday everyone! Here's a little fanmix I did of the never-made 1974-75 BB LP featuring what is available AND not including Battle Hymn of the Republic. Also, I tried to fit River Song into the mix but it's too damn epic and it doesn't fit the overall mood of the record. Enjoy! https://www.mixcloud.com/gabriel-lamarche/califfeel1975lp/CALIFORNIA FEELING (1975) Side A 01 Good Timin' 02 Susie Cincinatti (MIC mix) 03 Barnyard Blues 04 Had To Phone Ya (MIC mix) 05 Rainbows 06 Good Time 07 Rolling Up To Heaven Side B 08 It's Ok 09 Pacific Ocean Blues 10 Back Home (1970 version) 11 Everyone's In Love With You 12 Holy Man (Taylor Hawkins vocal version) 13 California Feeling (MIC mix)

I really liked this. It worked well as a cohesive listening experience. I found myself thinking, if they had released this, or something similar, back then instead of 15BO - wow, they would have had a truly credible album that may very well have been a huge popular success. It's a good example of how they could have maintained a thriving "new music" career, while still embracing their past and pleasing the fans that wanted to hear those songs too. Anyway, well done.

It would've done well in '75, granted Endless Summer was released prior to it. An LP named "California Feeling" will give a nostalgic enough "feel" to the old-timers, and the content would be hip enough for the critics. It flowed very well.

I like that selection of songs. It would've at least been better than 15 Big Ones! Another song I would add would be The Night Was So Young, which I think was written around 1975.

Great selection , really works well - A true democratic BB's album ( a la Sunflower ) and Dennis heavy (thank you)
On a side note , I could listen to POB (the track) all day long ( there is so much going on ) I would just love Gregg Jakobson and Earle Mankey to do a study video of that song.

Really enjoyed that. Would have made a great album. Listened to about half of 15 Real Ones after too.

Thanks a bunch all for the kind comments! Any SSmilers out there up for the task to come up with a cover art for the album? My Photoshop skills are too damn rusty

I never heard "Rollin' Up to Heaven" till now - 'tis real good! I expected worse than that, given its infamous status. Big deal, the lyrics. Thumbs up for inclusion of Pacific Ocean Blue, that's one groovy toon!

Good work. I really like this. It's the first (in my opinion) successful attempt at this mix.
