I have heard recordings in '87 with Al still on lead. In '88, it was kind of shared between Carl, Jeff, and Al with Al taking more. '89 was Carl. Matt Jardine took it starting in 97 I think.

Brian would also sing it in his occasional late 80s appearances, most notably at Live Aid.  Of course Brian did sing the original.

When I saw the BB live back in 1985, after the release of that self-titled album, Bruce said the whole song "She believes in Love Again", inlcluding Carl's part from the recording.
