Internet music critic Mark Prindle reviews what sounds like a...uhm, curious Beach Boys cover album:

I have this album. Bought it at the salvation army for 69 cents a few years back. It's interesting but musically it sucks. The Surfsiders didn't know how to play rock and roll at all.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I didn't know Mark Prindle had a video series! I loved his website, shame he isn't writing much of anything anymore. His reviews exposed me to a lot of great stuff, including some of the great obscure Beach Boys stuff in my early days as a fan.

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

He did the video series for albums he wanted to review (whether for bad or good reasons), but had no interest in reviewing the artist's entire discography. I miss his writing too, though I'm friends with him on Facebook and he posts pretty regularly about music and movies he's into.
