I remember reading that somewhere too. Wish they would stop teasing and release Carl's albums. I heard about this around the time they released
Youngblood. IIRC Billy was saying both albums on one disc, maybe with some bonus tracks. So I have been waiting... Would also love to see a live show, from either tour, cleaned up and released.
What is it with holding up the release on solo AND Beach Boys product? Maybe Billy could explain that on his facebook page. Glad I have the vinyl, but I know a lot of you don't. There is surely more than just one outtake. Hard to believe Carl's family would be holding out, maybe Myrna's family wants big bucks - or someone else in the band. Gerald Johnson's family? The other players are still alive, right? Has J.W.G. said anything about the first album hold-out? He certainly doesn't hold up the endless Chicago re-packages, or The Buckinghams. We need answers, not the endless tease.
They could recoup any costs of re-mastering, enough fans want this stuff. This "family business" is what screws up getting movies out with the original soundtracks.
Has anybody found the track? I spent an hour yesterday looking. Those SiriusXM links aren't going to get us anywhere. I had that in the car for about a year, and it's not worth subscribing to. I make my own comp CDs. They just play the same songs over and over. and rant over.
