While I dearly love all three songs, I'm casting my vote for "Feel Flows."

Surf's up
About time someone else sang its praises. Eric, there's only a handful of us sane around these parts. Have people forgotten that this was the first released version, and that it came only four years after the Smile sessions fell apart? It's damn-near contemporaneous and is still the most gorgeous piece of music committed to vinyl by anyone, anywhere, any time. I'm resigned to Til I Die walking away with the prize and for many voters it'll be on the spurious reason that
a
version of Surf's Up – the
wrong
version, cobbled together
44 years
after the event – has already had a top slot.
I wouldn't go so far as to try to persuade people to change their votes, but if anyone wanted to change their vote now I wouldn't think any less of them and wouldn't hold their earlier misguided opinion against them. We can't all be right all the time. Well,
you
can't all be right all the time.
I'm not upset…

Regardless of which version, Surf's Up has already won (rightfully) anyway. Do you guys honestly want the
same song
to win two Survivor Rounds? I say you guys should just be happy that song has already won

If it was the same song it would have been omitted from the second poll, just as the repeated tracks on early Capitol albums were omitted from those polls. Carl nailed it in both performance and co-production terms. It's bliss, whereas the Brian lead doesn't quite do it for me.
On that note, should That Same Song be omitted from the 15 Big Ones poll, as it is That Same Song and not another version? I think we should be told…

I don't care that another version won in an earlier round. I also don't think that the fact that this was released earlier makes it any better. I just think that Carl's lead is only technically pretty on this song and lacks, for lack of a better word, soul. That would be true even if it were the only release version, but the fact that we have several versions now with Brian's lead vocal providing precisely what is absent from Carl's vocal only makes it more obvious. Even if it were a different version of "Surf's Up," I'm not sure whether I would choose it over "Til I Die," but given
this
choice, it's quite easy for me.
All of which is to say, I'm not changing my vote.

I much prefer the finished version to the Smile version, I just think that 'Till I Die is the better song. It's bleak and yet somehow life affirming. Brian never wrote a better song IMO.

I voted for Till I Die too but I don't agree it's the better song. Surf's Up is a swan on an album of ducklings - I just decided to vote for my favourite duckling

I think I prefer Brian's lead too. Brian's voice always had a bit more of an "edge" than Carl's. Objectively speaking, I think that the 2011 version might be the best one.
But still, the 1971 version of 'Surf's Up' is and will always be the definitive one for me. That's the version that has the history. That's the 'Surf's Up' that people have been listening to for 43 years. You can't just replace that by something that was assembled on a computer three years ago.

I agree - it's a lame reason to vote for "'Til I Die."
If people think that "Surf's Up" is a better song, then they should vote for it regardless if another version already won.
I voted for "'Til I Die" because I like it more.

Both songs are fantastic, but Surf's Up is unique like no other song. I'd vote for it on any album.

Til I Die for the win.
As for Surfs Up everyone has a favorite mix of that song. I heard the Smile sessions first so that is my
favorite, but no matter to me SU won previously
Til I Die is a true overlooked masterpiece -- expecting it to contend with the heavyweights in the "Last Round"
