Great article about the restoration of the original Little Deuce Coupe in The Times:

There's also a real interesting blog about the article here:

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I took my sons to the Gilmore Car Museum (
http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/
) this past weekend and saw this beauty on display:
If you live in Michigan, the Gilmore Car Museum is well worth your time and money. It's about 45 minutes south of Grand Rapids and less than 30 minutes north of Kalamazoo.

Great articles, great photos, great album, one of my favorites and hanging over my piano with all the other early BB albums. Thanks for posting all of this.

Museum yellowing on the white walls. Shameful.

Do we know where the Surfin' Safari yellow pickup truck is currently located? If no, what was the history of that truck? The only information I could come up with on the board had to do with what they used in Love & Mercy. Thanks!

I recently returned to the Gilmore Car Museum. I was afraid the Little Deuce Coupe would be gone since it is on loan and the hot rod temporary exhibit was making way for muscle cars, but it's still there. Here is my extremely poor video and editing skills:

Very cool indeed! Thank you, sir. No need to belittle your skills in that department. ;=)
