Oh no - thoughts are with him.

Over in Germany, Jack Rieley's having none too good a time right now.

This is also lousy news. Say what you like about Jack - and people do - but he was directly responsible for the band's critical/commercial revival in the early '70's and played a huge role in creating Surf's Up, CATP and Holland. And he helped Carl create his greatest songs.

Let's hope they both manage to pull through.

Sorry to hear this, I always thought Michael was one of the key players in the Smile saga, and for at least a few crucial months in the story was perhaps the person closest to Brian's everyday routine apart from his own wife and family. Above all they seemed to have an absolute blast together, living in a very historic and creative time. Then - flash - it was all over. It reminded me of my own past, where you strike up a fast and immediate friendship that's so important and fun, and then in a heartbeat the whole scene changes and it's gone.

Cam, if it doesn't get into privacy issues is there a way to contact him and send encouragements and well-wishes? If it's not something to release publicly, would you mind sending me a message off the board if there is contact info? I'd really like to send something.

Thanks.

He has a Facebook page. He hasn't been on it  recently and I guess we maybe know why now.

Sorry to hear this; his name is one that has resonated through BBs history and if anyone's able I hope the best wishes of all on the board can be conveyed.

Didn't his son post here occasionally?

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Michael, from me too.

Indeed, his name is inextricably linked to the Beach Boys saga, and SMiLE in particular.

Thanks Cam, I found the page but I'm hesitant to send anything at this point, it looks like he hasn't been active there for awhile. Sending my best wishes and thoughts from afar.

I don't know about Vosse, but David Anderle's son has posted here. Regarding Michael Vosse: In one of the most ridiculous online fan-community episodes I've seen, someone who was posting as Michael Vosse - and it looked for all the world to be legit, that it was him or else a really stupid prank - started posting on another board about 8 years ago or so. And just when he started posting there, and it looked like a great opportunity to ask some questions, that particular board went into one of those tailspins which was a combination of people acting like total idiots and it basically blew the thing up. And whether it was the real Michael or someone pretending to be him for a laugh, that person never came back. So thanks for the memories, those responsible for that bit of nonsense.  Sad

Michael himself posted here a few times as "nemo".

Yeah, it was mostly one of those internet things and unfortunate. Did anyone happen to save those few posts?

I don't know anything beyond what has been posted on his Facebook. Maybe Jonathan Anderle or someone will update us.
