Well, you did post on the original 30th anniversary thread.....but the board has been peaceful lately so we should all keep it that way, whether this was trolling or not  Grin.   Thumbs Up

So, Surfer has unequivocally established himself as either:

1 - someone with serious short-term memory loss or...

2 - a troll.

On the evidence of some of his past posts, I'm inclined more and more towards #2.

It's obvious "Surfer" is either mentally damaged or is just being an piece of sh*t troll. The fact that he hasn't been suspended or banned from the board while others who actually contributed have been is pretty much BS.

I believe the guy to be a troll but he has some Mods' support. Maybe they know different

This has nothing to do with supporting a certain member. Yes, Surfer can come accross as enthousiastically naive in his posts. But replying stating someone is mentally ill, is not the way to respond. If you don't like his topics, simply ignore them.

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

Again, fair comment and, since this forum has been a little beacon of puppy dogs, butterflies, sweetness and light in the absence (enforced or voluntary) of sundry posters, I feel the application of a smidgeon of selective benign neglect is a wise one.  group hug

This 43 word post contained no less than four words I had to look up in the dictionary.

I wonder if giving free education  lessons was party of AGD's purpose. In any case, nice to know you're getting smarter!

I've not become smarter, though - only my knowledge increased. Shocked

Actually, there's one book on the Beach Boys I gave up reading in the middle because the writer felt the necessity to show off on his vocabulary to an extense that I got fed up with looking up several words per sentence. Gladly, that's a big exception. Usually it's one word in 4 or 5 pages.

Did you check whether I counted the words right in your original post? Cheesy

I think of those four words I will remember about one in my long term memory... I'm not young enough to remember them without special effort. Smiley (But hey, before I clicked the post button, I looked up whether I had translated the German word "Langzeitgedächtnis" correctly into English and found I was just one hyphen short! Wink)

I'm guessing that was Tim White's.  Smiley

Oh, and Micha ? Your English puts my German to shame.

Just checked it - spot on, Andrew. Smiley It's the only book I know that features an image of the duophonic SMiLE cover though. There may be others, but it's the only one I have.

Why, thank you very much! I'm flattered! Head Spin I've got two big advantages over you there though: English has a way less complicated grammar than German, and you haven't been forced for nearly 20 years to read German articles and books about your favorite band due to them not being available in your first language. That's why my English has reached a certain level.
