That's cool. Anyone know what the new stereo mixes will be?

If this is the same box that was released in 2008:

"Little Saint Nick"
"When I Grow Up (To Be a Man)"
"She Knows Me Too Well"
"Do You Wanna Dance?"

Nice spot.

Same site has TSS box set for £91 though I think I recall it's been a bit cheaper there in the past.

Yep, First time around for TSS was much cheaper and with free shipping. I got a 2nd copy delivered for $125 AU (about 65 Quid).

Now, speaking of pop market bagains with free shipping - I'd be buying this off-topic item - https://www.popmarket.com/bob-dylan-the-original-mono-recordings-vinyl-lp/details/5747770

WOW!  $60?  Is that considered a geat deal?  I paid $16 for the set back when it was released.

The Singles box?  For $16??  New?  Shocked Good job if you got it for that - did you get it from a retailer, or a "contact"?

Goes for about $120 in store down here these days, but when first released the ticket prices was $200ish.  So I would consider the Pop Market deal pretty good (although I got mine from them a year or 2 ago for $50)

I have never seen the inside of the box set.. Is it true all the disks come with reproductions of the original PIC sleeves.. ??

The discs come in reproductions of an original sleeve - to be clear, the following don't come in picuture sleeves but in a repro of a stock Capitol sleeve (Black border, black writing, white sleeve) with a repro of the original 45 label (with orange and yellow swirl (or yellow and orange swirl)):
- Surfin' USA/Shut Down
- Surfer Girl/LDC
- Be True To Yer School/My Room
- The Man with all the Toys/Blue Christmas
(the original 45 rpm adaptor is not pictured/popped out)

Little Saint Nick comes in a red sleeve, with a 14 point sun/star shape; each point houses pictures of big band style instrument, microphone or conductors batton.

Disc 16, the bitchin' little bonus disc, has cover art of a faux beat-up white(ish) sleeve with the following "rubber stamped":

        PROPERTY OF
CAPITOL RECORDS, INC.
     REPERTOIRE DEPT.

On the back cover the titles of the 4 tracks (see the wiki link for the titles and the mix details) are handwritten (and numbered) with a Blue or Black ballpoint pen.

Each CD is printed to look like the A-side, or side 1 (eg, Four by The Beach Boys) of each single; faux (printed) grooves and lead out, then the Capitol O/Y swirl design - except the bonus disc which simply has a white label with "DISC: 16" (the sixteen is handwritten in blue pen) at the top and "The Beach Boys" "typed" (in blue) at the bottom.

The track listings, technical and production credits etc are printed on a fold-out.  There is also a cd sized hardcover book with a textured sand cover, devoted to band photos, some arty shots and a picuture of the Surf + Safari mono duplicate tape box from April 1962.  There is no further annotation or (suprisingly) writerly ponderings in this book.

The CDs are stacked upright in a style reproducing a record bin/rack at yer local store - the box lid snuggles down onto the collection.

All in all, it's a nifty little package, delivered with style and grace - arguably, you might put your money towards tracking down the actual 45s - but I was pretty happy with it.

Have a snoop around via Google images, that'll give you you a good idea of the contents and packaging.

Even then, it's your whole collection.  Know another guy with a very similar happening. He stopped seeing a woman, and she traveled from Texas to his town, cleaned everything from his storage locker and kept it. Tons of BBs and practically everything else he held dear. Knew it was her, but couldn't prove she took it, only that it was GONE!

Keep your girlfriend close and your BB memorabilia closer. That is the moral of the tale, I guess.

Blimey!

Sounds like a plot lifted straight out of 'High Fidelity' by Nick Hornby...

I knew somebody who once told me that back in the 70s, he had a complete collection of 60s Capitol BBs albums in mono and stereo (and duo, where applicable) still sealed. One day his girlfriend moved out and disappeared with the collection!

I think there's a special place in hell reserved for people who do such things!

Jeez... I bet she didn't do that for the money? Just to hit him where it hurt the hardest (in the material and immaterial sense, culture-wise)...

This was actually the first Beach Boys fan I ever knew.  You could say he was my 'Beach Boys mentor'.

Hurt? That could kill a guy.

Ironically, it's because I continue to retain a long term/wife, I have very little BB gold in my collection.
