Looks like I'll just be a spectator for this thread--I haven't listened to "Party!" yet.  It's on spotify. Give it a listen. Since it's your first time, your perspective might be interesting to read. That would be a fine idea for a normal person--but that, I am not.  I have a sacramental-type listening experience to "new" Beach Boys' albums; it's fairly restrictive, actually lol. In that case, sit back and enjoy the show.  |

Why all the hate for I Should Have Known Better?
My guess is that when it comes to covers, the more well-known the original is, the less highly rated the covers are, because more people are comparing them (unfavourably) with the originals. Of course, Beatles and Dylan songs are going to be better known than, um.... some of the other songs on this album. I'm going to listen to this album again before I vote in this thread again. From memory, it's mostly much of a muchness. |

You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, on the other hand... The party sounds are dreadful on this one. To the point where they sound rude.
