I''m Waiting for the Day*- Brian wrote most of the lyrics.

Wow what's your source on that? I wonder what Mike contributed to the song. Was just listening to it and realized how beautiful the lyrics are. He definitely was an underrated lyricist

The version copyrighted in 1964 and credited solely to Brian is maybe six, eight words different to the released version.

Does that mean that Mike Love's credit for the released version is as dubious as the one for Wouldn't It Be Nice, or is it possible that Mike did write lyrics for the version copyrighted in 1964 and just wasn't credited (as was the case with many tracks he had a hand in writing at the time)?

Excellent question. I don't have a clue. One reason why I'd just love to hang out with the band 1963-1965 rather than 1966-67.

Landy claimed he deserved a writing credit on at least half a dozen of the Love You songs didn't he? Though obviously that may be false.

I seem to recall Brian mentioning Landy writing lyrics when he appeared on Larry King's show. Melinda kind of tried to prevent him from saying so if I recall correctly.
