Brian says it may happen end of the year.

Beck performs on three or four tracks likely to make the album, Wilson says. According to Rolling Stone magazine, they include a heavy surf-music jam called “Metropolis” and one on which Beck picks a 12-string electric guitar over vocals by Jardine. The album also features Marks. Wilson not only used both of them on his new solo material, but also has included them on the tour, meaning the show has more original Beach Boys on stage than Love’s touring version. “They’re good singers and they know my songs,” says Wilson.
Wilson says the songs recorded with Beck are hardly the only new material he has. He says he had “a whole lot of songs we wrote in 1998, and we used a lot of those.” He confirms reports he has three discs worth of material. The songs with Beck, Jardine and Marks are likely to make up a new album of pop songs, but Wilson also has a collection of mostly instrumental new songs with Beck and a complex group of interwoven tracks he calls “the suite.” He says he expects the first disc out “maybe about the end of the year. I’m not really sure when.” He says the rest of the material will follow, but “well, just one at a time.”
