It's a very nice pressing. Comes with Korean insert, it sounds slightly better than the CD sonically. Original US mixes are used.

Smile Holland has one.  It's on my wish list...

When I read the title of this thread, the first thing that came into my mind was "I bet Mike Eder has one!".  Grin

Now someone here had a Stars & Stripes vinyl acetate. Now that would be the biggie as far as rare.

I love Summer in Paradise. In fact, I'm the guy who bought the one copy sold when it was first released. Was summer of '92, and played it continuously while being slammed by Hurricane Andrew. Latter it became our soundtrack to vacations at Cocoa Beach and Key West. Always thought it should have opened with Island Fever, with its fade-up invitation to get away. Also, they should have added Kokomo despite the fact that it had already appeared on Still Cruisin. And can't decide if I prefer the studio or live version of the title track.

For me, no contest. The live version. It rocks!

The Euro mix is pretty close to the live version.

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.

Yes, Summer in Paradise live is pretty terrific. I thought the video was pretty goofy, but ok.

Anyone have any idea who the cosmic lady referenced in Strange Things Happen was?

I don't have it in any format. It is the Beach Boys album that convinced me that it was not in my best interest to be a completist.

Well, of course Summer in Paradise is routinely excoriated from here to Kokomo, but the outright malice directed its way for its supposed failings seems to me merely a subsidiary of Hate Mike Love Industries, Unlimited.

Yes, the drum machine can be a pointless distraction.

Yes, the charms of the up front Yogi Bear bow wows escape me.

Yes, the set opens with a flaccid cover of Sly Stone's classic.

Yes, Bruce Johnston is to romance as Nutra-sweet is to sugar.

Yes, I could go on if prodded to do so but then, I give it a listen and memory transports me back to times when we were desperately poor but the kids were little and a week long escape to the rundown Sand Dollar Motor Inn at Cocoa Beach, right there on that beautiful beach, was a real treat. And it was these tunes that blared out at us while we poked around at Ron Jon's surf shop. "Hey! Is that a new one from the Beach Boys? I'll take a copy!" And as I think about it I can't help but reflect on all the memories I associate with these guys thru the years clear back to 1963. I seem to recall where I first bought or encountered each of their newest releases. And those memories color my response to those sounds. Sweet memories.

"Hey now, well it's a love thing!"
