The Beach Boys - Three Years Ago Today at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA

I just wanted to mention that three years ago today, on June 1, 2012, I saw what may just be the best live concert I’ve ever seen. The Beach Boys’ 50th Anniversary tour at the Hearst Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley, California. Blew me away in a way I would have never thought possible. This wasn’t just a pilgrimage to say I saw all the guys on stage at the same time. It was a powerhouse show. Great performances. Awesome setlist. Great backing band.

Two weeks from today, I saw the Boys in Maryland as part of the C50 Tour.  It was the first time I'd ever seen The Beach Boys live, and I only bought a ticket at the last second because I figured it would be the only time I'd ever get to see Brian Wilson with the Beach Boys. 

Two and a half hours and 48 songs later, I went from a casual BB fan to a BB nut. 

This year, I'm looking forward to hearing some of these great songs done again with Brian, Al, and Blondie later this month.  Then, with Mike and Bruce later in the summer.

The show I attended the following day at the Hollywood Bowl was WAY better.
