German radio station WDR2 is broadcasting an hour of live recordings from last year's C50 tour, starting at 11pm.

I presume it's going to be recordings from their Mönchengladbach show, since those have been already been broadcasted once in early August 2012. The original article (see source below) is also accompanied with a couple of photos from that same M'Gladbach gig.

The tracklist:
Quote
1.   Do it again
2.   Surfin' Safari
3.   Catch a wave
4.   Surfer Girl
5.   The little girl I once knew
6.   Isn't it time
7.   Lttle deuce coupe
8.   I get around
9.   That's why god made the radio
10.   Calefornia girls
11.   Dance dance dance
12.   Rock and Roll Music
13.   Do wanna dance
14.   Barbara Ann
15.   Surfin USA
16.   Good vibrations

My feeling still is that those are the NPR-recordings. But I never heard about the M'Gladbach recordings being broadcasted. If anyone has those, please let me know where I can listen to them

BTW I hope they mention the new album. This would be a nice promotion

EDIT:

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

As Rocker has already pointed out to me: "Isn't It Time" probably wasn't performed in M'Gladbach. So maybe it's not M'Gladbach recordings, after all.

(I remember WDR2 announcing they'd play their recordings of the M'Gladbach concert a couple of days after the Berlin concert. A friend of mine confirms this. Unfortunately I didn't get to tune in back then, myself.)

EDIT:

Okay, there's no "Isn't It Time" and no "Dance, Dance, Dance" either. Probably nothing from German gigs, then. And quite possibly NPR material.

I recorded it, expertly using the WDR's own service/tool. Thing is, I can't seem to find said recording on my laptop.

Today I received a reply to my E-Mail request for more information on yesterday's broadcast. An excerpt:

Quote

In short: the show wasn't the M'Gladbach show but a mix of recordings from different US gigs, compiled by the label/management. It's not available commercially.

Weird thing though: while the program was airing the (all-over badly prepared) radio host explicitly referred to the broadcasted tunes as being from the M'Gladbach concert, on multiple occasions. Sometimes right after a song in which the BBs referenced the US state of Texas. Tongue

I can't confirm if the broadcast included NPR material as of yet - it's been a while since I listened to that program (well, last year).

I'll keep trying to dig up whatever I recorded yesterday. If that doesn't work, WDR2 offered me a hot deal to come by that sh*t: they'd burn me a private CD for just €35! Banana

If you buy that, deduct that money from your GEZ fees! Grin

I haven't listened to it but I'd be surprised as hell if it wasn't the same material as the NPR recordings.

BTW did you find out if there really was a broadcast of the Gladbach-show last year and where one could find that now?
