If you wrote it with Jon Stebbins, then it's probably all about how great David Marks is.
Was that really necessary?

Yeah I heard there was a slight production delay, should be showing up any day now, or in a week. I've been through this book publishing/release thing five times now...and its always really vague in the days leading to the actual physical release. Just when you think its going to be delayed for awhile, the book will suddenly show up. So my instinct is that we'll see it ...oh crap i really don't know...but soon.
I ordered mine and can't wait to get it! Am hoping that it will get here soon!

First, congratulattions to Ian, and Jon.
Second, I guess you and TV haven't read any of Jon's books.
Third, I have never met Jon but I have met David. He is as cool and nice of a guy as you could ever meet.

You can already preorder it on German amazon for €31 but the release date of April 15th 2012 does not seem to have arrived yet.

First, agreed
Second, I did read all of them (all the BB-related ones)
Third, I met David several times. He's indeed super cool and super nice and I always enjoy seeing him live
But all this has nothing to do with what TV Forces wrote

In all the excitement surrounding the announcement of the track line-up for "Made in California," let's not lose sight of the imminent release of THE BEACH BOYS IN CONCERT: THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA'S BAND ON TOUR AND ONSTAGE by Ian Rusten and Jon Stebbins. This promises to be one of the most thoroughly enjoyable books about the band in quite some time. An essential read and resource for every Beach Boys' fan and anyone who appreciates popular music. Years and years of painstaking work went into this examination of the guys on tour. All done in the author's "free time." Truly a labor of love. So, an appreciative tip of the hat to Messrs. Rusten and Stebbins for their landmark contribution to our collective understanding of fifty years on the road with the band we all love so much. Like many here, I've ordered the Deluxe Edition and plan on buying several additional copies through Barnes & Noble for family and friends. With news of Brian's creative burst, his shows with Al and David, MIC, and the publication of IN CONCERT, it is going to be a great time for the Boys of Summer.

What's the 'deluxe edition'? Do you simply mean the hardcover edition or is there a deluxe edition with vintage ticket stubs from 50 years of BBs concerts, or something?
There's only one edition (the normal hardcover 1st edition) listed on German amazon (which I pre-ordered).

Jim's referring to a numbered and signed version I offered (with a special insert) to a small list of friends...but those 50 copies have all been reserved.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Just to make clear: I have been informed that after some small delays the book is now in the warehouse and will be shipped out in the next few weeks to stores and people that ordered it. So expect to see it in early July. Sorry about that-but at least it will be available quite soon. Hopefully it will be worth the wait!

Don't know about Dutch book prices as compared to Swedish, but I ordered mine from American Amazon and that was cheaper than ordering it from a domestic bookstore.

Ian is continuing his research, and has lately unearthed two more shows which, of course, will not be included in the book. They are, however, listed on 10452, with a # notation. One is pretty early. Any further such updates will be similarly documented.
