Tonight I ended up looking through a Mama Cass website, and found a few interesting photos of her at Western Studios.  I'll list how they're captioned on the site:

With Chuck Britz at a 3's A Crowd recording session, 1967:

With David Wiffen at a 3's A Crowd recording session, 1967:

In the studio in April of 1966
(I think this is Western...is that THE tack piano??)

That second picture. That guy in the background. I'm sure there's is a picture of Dennis wearing exactly the same outfit, right down to the shades.

It could be my eyes but aren't Dennis' trousers chequered in that photo? Unless he painted his penis tartan that day! Smiley

I guess you never know with Dennis though.
Maybe that's why Al is making that face? Maybe he caught a glimpse of it?

(I think this is Western...is that THE tack piano??)

Not sure about "the" tack piano as most studios had one or more at this time, but it is definitely Western's piano.  Smiley

Here's a shot of Brian demonstrating a part on it at a GV session, 1966:

What was probably rented, a harpsichord? And why would that be expected to be seen in any of the photos posted above?

Nevermind me Im trying to get 250 posts by weeks end. Am I off topic? There was a mention of the tack piano I think.

well yeah I guess the harpischord would be gone by the time these pics were taken but it was in Western 3 at some point I think during PS. You can hear that in the sessions and he complained that a key was out or bad or something.

Thanks for the pic, guitarfool.  I was looking for that film or still shot, but I couldn't find it.

It seems most of the copies of the "GV sessions film" files available on youtube are edited down and don't include this shot.  I'd love to see the original film, beginning to end.
